What made you want to become a Mentor?
I wanted to stay in a supporting role while also venturing into something new, I thought Mentoring was a great pathway into this. I like that mentoring focusses on creating connections and helping support client's independence.
What is your favourite quote?
" A reader lives a thousand lives before he dies...The man who never reads lives only one" - George R.R Martin
Can you describe your approach to supporting young people?
My approach is to be calm and friendly; this can be by focusing on getting to know the client and finding similar interests or life experiences to create a friendship. I understand that everyone is different and needs different care and approach, so I support them by learning how they like to be supported and being someone they like to be around.
What is your go-to karaoke song?
Anything from the 90s-2000s era.
