What made you want to become an Allied Health Assistant / Mentor?

I have always loved building connections with others and helping people feel valued, heard and supported. I am very passionate about supporting young people to build their confidence and independence in everyday life. I also love getting to know each person and supporting them in ways that are meaningful to them. I am currently studying to become an occupational therapist, which allowed me to continue to develop my skills and do what I genuinely enjoy!

Can you describe your approach to supporting young people?

My approach focuses on being client centred and child led. I value taking the time to listen and understand each young person’s strengths, interest and goals. I aim to help build a welcoming, safe and supportive environment where individuals feel comfortable to be themselves and learn new skills.

What is the most interesting place you have been?

A floating café in the middle of the ocean.

What is your go-to karaoke song?

I love doing duet songs with my friends! Anything from Defying Gravity from Wicked, Don’t Go Breaking my Heart by Elton John or Hakuna Matata from The Lion King!

Do you have any fun or unique talents?

I can make a ballon dog AND If you say a word, I can most likely relate it to a song.
