Hi, I'm Chanteal!
Senior Occupational Therapist
Chanteal is a qualified Occupational Therapist, completing a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy
(Honours) at University of South Australia in 2023. Chanteal started her career in paediatrics 5
years ago at Life Skills Hub as a Mentor and Allied Health Assistant, conducting sessions 1:1
and facilitating groups. Since becoming an Occupational Therapist, Chanteal has worked in
non-for-profit and private practice organisations, conducting therapy in clinic and community
settings. She has supported young people from 2 years of age onwards, who are Autistic and/or
experience developmental delays.
Chanteal prioritises using a neurodiversity affirming lens in her sessions, recognising that
neurodivergent individuals have a unique set of strengths and opportunities for development
that are different from their neurotypical peers, not less than. She recognises that the young
person and their family are experts in their own life, and ensures their wants and needs are at
the forefront of the therapeutic process. Chanteal uses her nurturing and vibrant presence to
create a safe space for young people to be their authentic self, as the foundation of them
achieving their goals.

What made you want to become an Occupational Therapist?
I wanted to become an Occupational Therapist so I could help improve people’s quality of life by
supporting them to do the activities that they find meaningful. Medicine adds days to lives,
Occupational Therapy adds life to days.
What are some of your favourite activities to do in your free time?
In my free time you can find me hosting craft nights, front row at a gig, or doing reformer pilates.
